FAQ

The questions venues actually ask

If yours is not here, ask us — we would rather answer it before you buy.

Do guests have to download anything?

No. Joining the network opens the page automatically on iOS and Android. There is no app and no password to hand out. A phone that has connected before skips the form and gets a single button.

Does this work with the WiFi we already have?

If it is TP-Link Omada, yes — that is what we install and support today, and we can usually use what is already on the wall. Other controllers sit behind the same adapter, and we will tell you honestly whether yours is one we have proven on real hardware rather than one we think should work.

Is the marketing list actually ours to use?

Yes, for the guests who opted in — and only those. The exact wording each guest agreed to is stored alongside their record, so you can always show what was consented to. Anyone who replies STOP is suppressed across every Boom Media app at once, not just this one.

What counts as a visit?

A connection. We report visits and unique customers separately, because one phone connecting four times in an evening is four visits and one customer. Quoting the first number as the second would flatter every venue in the book, so we do not.

Can you tell us when we are busy?

Yes, and it is the thing your point of sale cannot tell you. A till knows when people paid; this knows when they walked in, including the ones who looked at the queue and left again. You get a heatmap by hour and weekday.

Do you filter out unhappy customers before asking for a review?

No, and neither should anyone else. Filtering who gets asked by predicted sentiment is against Google’s review policies and the FTC wrote a rule about review suppression in 2024. Every guest who opts in is asked. The reviews you get are real ones.

Is the network monitoring available yet?

Not yet, and we would rather say so. Guest WiFi and WiFi marketing are live now. Network monitoring and camera fleet health are in rollout, and we will not bill for either until they are.

Does the guest WiFi need a password?

It should not have one. The splash page is the gate, and a password on the guest network only adds friction at the door. We will set it up open with the portal doing the work.
